They came around following the invention of the printing press and the consequential appearance of a commercial network whose purpose was to sell a growing number of book editions and copies. In 2006, Ecuador entered the international circuit of book fairs during the first edition of EXPOLIBRO, which took place in the charming Crystal Palace in Guayaquil. Today, the sector and society in general is anxiously awaiting the third edition, which you cannot miss. Here, yet again, all links of the book sector’s chain will be present: Writers, Literary Agents, Editors, Graphic Designers, Distributors, Book sellers as well as countless others who work in book-related areas and culture in general. It is necessary, however, that we bear our main character, “the READER,” in mind. The reader is an avid seeker of alternatives, and will participate in the fair throughout it’s ten days. Here, the reader will seek what the need to nourish his or her literary interests. In the professional sector, the 2008 edition will strengthen visits from literary agents, librarians and educators that work in various areas. Here, they will make contacts and do business.
