The scope of the scientific meeting will be similar to that of the previously organised Conferences on Solidification and Gravity in 1991, 1995, 1999 and 2004. This Conference is aimed to attract all those having interest in investigation and simulation of different type of solidification processes and both micro- and macro-gravity effects. In the framework of the conference a MICAST meeting (Microstructure Formation in Casting of Technical Alloys under Diffusive and Magnetically Controlled Convective Conditions) will be organised between 4th and 5th of September 2008.The conference will consist of invited and contributed oral presentations and poster sessions.
