The fairs were originally started in 1987. From a modest start the
fairs have grown from just 60 stands, initially held at the old Devon
County Show Ground, to become the largest circuit of Antiques &
Collectors Fairs in South West of England. The fairs range from the
Giant, quality weekend fairs at the Westpoint Exhibition Centre in
Exeter with up to 500 stands which are being held 6 times in 2006, to
the largest Saturday fairs in the country, also held 6 times a year at
the Matford Centre, Exeter, with 230 inside and up to 100 outside and
250 undercover outside stands. To compliment these extremely successful
events they also run the Sunday Antique and Collectors fairs at the
Westlands Leisure Complex in Yeovil has up to 100 stands and will take
place in February and December in 2006. DCAF launched a new fair in
2004 at the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge where they offer
250 inside stands plus space for unlimited outside pitches. This event
which will take place in April and August in 2006 has continued to go
from strength to strength and is the largest antiques and collectors
event in Cornwall. The fair comprises stand fitted and datelined
stands, specialist furniture stands and hundreds of pegboard backed and
table top stands.
