the Centro Fiera del Garda in Montichiari, Brescia, will host next Metef, an undisputed reference event for the aluminium international industrial sector: EXTRUSION, DIECASTING, ROLLING, SURFACE TREATMENTS, MACHINING and JOINING TECHNIQUES. The 2006 edition recorded excellent results: 544 exhibiting companies (411 Italian and 133 foreign), 16,225-sqm show ground, more than 17,000 visitors. Several conventions are being prepared. As usual, they will enrich the exhibition and the most important among them is the HTDC - High tech diecasting international convention organized in cooperation with Aim, Italian Association of Metallurgy. Following the tradition, Metef will be sided by Foundeq Europe, the international exhibition of plants, equipment and products for the foundry sector. Both these show are promoted and organized by Edimet Spa with the sponsorship of the major trade associations. Ever since its inception Metef has been the world’s top showcase exhibition for the entire aluminium and non-ferrous metals manufacturing segment. Distinguished itself as the opportunity par excellence to have a close-up view of the industry’s latest developments in machinery, plant, equipment, products and aluminium applications, Metef is a meeting point for large and small scale enterprises in the industry. It provides the most qualified experts in the field of diecasting, extrusion, foundry, rolling, surface treatments and complementary technologies, with the most innovative and technologically advanced solutions to cope with the most demanding production requirements. Metef dates back to 1996. It is an initiative of Al-fin Spa, the company that groups together the main Italian extruding companies, and which has now assigned the management of the exhibition to its subsidiary Edimet Spa. Edimet is the company leader in metal publishing, known as multimedia network in the sector. Conferences, association gatherings, round-tables, corporate meetings and cultural events, unique opportunities for promotion and obtaining up-to-date information, set the backdrop to an event that has continued to grow - in terms of both exhibiting companies and surface area covered, as well as the quality and number of visitors. Metef, together with Foundeq Europe, have also grown in international stature as a result of the involvement of domestic and international associations such as EAA, OEA, Cemafon, Estal, Face, Assomet-Centroal, Amafond, Assofond, Uncsaal, Aim, Aital-Qualital and ITA - not forgetting the consistent attendance of official delegations from across the world.
