The Donald E. Stephens Convention Center is located in
Rosemont, Illinois, just minutes from O'Hare International Airport. The Center
features 840,000 square feet of exhibition space for trade shows and public
shows. There is parking available for 8,000 cars. A skybridge connects the
Convention Center to parking and three hotels. Formerly named the Rosemont
Convention Center, it was renamed to honor Donald E. Stephens, who founded the
Village of Rosemont in 1956 and has been its mayor ever since.
The
Convention Center is also home to the Donald E. Stephens Museum of Hummels. Here
you'll see about a thousand M. I. Hummel figurines, including one that is 8 feet
tall. The museum began when Mayor Stephens donated his collection to the Village
of Rosemont in 1984.
The Convention Center is located at 5555 North
River road in Rosemont, just south of the Kennedy Expressway, two miles east of
Chicago's O'Hare Airport and a few blocks from the Tri-State tollway.(I294)
