Description: A.G.E.C.O. was founded during the 1980’s, on the initiative of renowned exhibition and conference organisers from the private sector. Its primary aim is to aid and coordinate the attempt to improve the operating conditions in this field and to safeguard exhibitors and conference participants from the business world from events of questionable quality.

To achieve this aim, the organisation’s main objective is to solve lasting problems in the sector, having set the following concrete goals:
  • Establishing a modern legal framework to regulate exhibitions and conferences.
  • Drawing up a code of ethics that would be enforced by the government, covering everybody involved in the exhibition and conference sector.
  • The mediation of A.G.E.C.O. in the decision to create modern exhibition and conference centres, primarily in Athens and elsewhere afterwards, to ensure the opportunity to stage events in modern facilities and to safeguard the exhibition and conference organisers’ interests.
  • Communicating and working together with international organisations for the joint confrontation of problems and the drawing up of policies for the future and further development of exhibitions and conferences.
